My wife and daughter went to the cinema to watch a ballet, streamed live, from the Bolshoi. How cool is it that such a thing is possible? It turned out that she preferred hanging with her brothers after the second act. I went to pick them up with our youngest because the trains only run once an hour on Sunday.
Along the way we stopped at the supermarket. The girls would have gone out for dinner together, but soul food from Dad beats a restaurant, apparently. That’s very gratifying in and by itself. So we needed some more things.
Among the extra groceries, I put a little container with cubes of B’s favourite cheese.
It was a simple, little indulgence that was greatly appreciated. It made space for one of our “secret conversations”, as he calls them.
What’s a little indulgence you can offer to someone you care about?
