Paul Smith once wrote a book titled “You can find inspiration in everything *.” Or I should maybe say “made”. You see, he’s a seer. And from that, he makes things.

He’s one of my heroes. I got to meet him when his glorious exhibition “Hello” opened in 2014, at the old Design Museum.

He creates worlds. His office is a world. Every single shop is a world, in and by itself. And each one is part of a larger world again.  You may not like everything you see, but in you will walk in when you pass one.

I think this is because he has a rare quality. He has overview and the same time, a ridiculous attention to detail. And this is how he charmingly seduces you.

That’s clever.

Can you hold two perspectives at the same time?

(*and if you can’t, look again)
